Thank You, Veterans

Today I woke up, climbed out of bed, walked into the kitchen where the coffee aroma filled the room.  I prepared a cup of hot coffee, exactly the way I love it! Then, I sat in my chair in the living room with my husband and my mom. We visited about world events, discussed our plans for the day, laughed, drank more coffee, talked much and went our separate ways to prepare for the day. We, all three, did these simple activities this morning without pain, without assistance and without fear. Without fear because I was born and live in this wonderful country where I am free to______________________.

Without pain and without assistance because, although I am free, freedom is not free and many, many, men and women paid the price for me. Many who are injured, living a life they never dreamed so I can live out my dreams. I’m not injured. They are. They did it for me and for you. Are we taking care of them well? I mean really well? I’m grateful. Thank you.
